Lum Kok Kiong

Lum Kok Kiong is the founder and principal of Messrs Lum Kok Kiong & Co. Prior to establishing his firm, he practiced at Shook Lin & Bok, one of the largest legal firms in Malaysia.

Kok Kiong possesses extensive trial and appellate experience across all levels of courts in Malaysia. He served as the lead counsel in the landmark Federal Court case of Remeggious Krishnan v SKS Southern Sdn Bhd [2023] 3 MLJ 1.

As an accomplished commercial litigator, Kok Kiong specializes in various areas, including company disputes, civil disputes, banking litigation, construction disputes, intellectual property disputes, and land acquisition proceedings. He is also deeply committed to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) issues.

In 2022, Kok Kiong was recognized as a “Rising Star in Malaysia” by the prestigious Asian Legal Business, which is associated with Thomson Reuters.

 

In 2023, Kok Kiong was selected for the “LexisNexis® 40 UNDER 40”, an exclusive industry recognition that honours 40 professionals aged 40 years old and younger who demonstrate exceptional potential for growth and leadership in the legal sector across the Asia Pacific.

 

His clientele includes leading Malaysian corporations and multi-national companies. Additionally, he serves as the legal advisor for the Malaysia Lin Chamber of Commerce and is the Vice President of the Malaysia Chinese Chess Association.

Suvine Tang

Suvine Tang holds an LLB (Hons) degree from Multimedia University and was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya on September 10, 2020.

Since her admission, Suvine has specialized in civil litigation, gaining extensive experience in managing a diverse range of disputes. These include commercial and contractual disputes, corporate disputes, intellectual property disputes, tort claims, and debt recovery.

With experience handling cases from the Subordinate Courts to the Appellate Courts, Suvine possesses a comprehensive understanding of the legal landscape and adopts a strategic approach to litigation.

Suvine is committed to providing clients with effective legal solutions while navigating complex legal challenges with diligence and integrity. Her commitment to client advocacy and thorough preparation ensures that every case is approached with meticulous attention to detail.

Jocelyn Phua

Jocelyn Phua is a dedicated legal professional with nearly three years of post-qualified experience in civil litigation, achieving victories in cases valued at over RM150 million.

Specializing in general and banking litigation, she excels in legal drafting, research, and trial preparation. Her international experience broadens her legal perspective, and Jocelyn has developed a global understanding of legal practices.

As a Litigation Associate at Lum Kok Kiong & Co., Jocelyn focuses on contractual disputes, intellectual property claims, banking disputes, and corporate matters, including contract review and drafting.

With a solid commitment to delivering quality legal services and fostering client relationships, Jocelyn is poised to positively impact any legal environment.

Nor Sofia

Nor Sofia has been serving as the Office Manager at Messrs Lum Kok Kiong & Co. since 2021. She brings 12 years of experience as an Account Assistant and administrative professional in the legal industry of Malaysia.

Her responsibilities include managing the office’s daily operations, overseeing administrative tasks, and handling accounting duties to ensure efficiency and compliance in the legal sector.

Additionally, Sofia is skilled in budget management, team leadership, and organizational development. She works to ensure the smooth day-to-day operations of the firm, which effectively support business objectives and contribute to overall organizational success.
